Living With Vaginismus

vaginismus

Marni Scott

2 out of 1000 Women are silently suffering from a medical condition called Vaginismus. In this episode I met a gracious woman, Marni Scott, who was super willing to be open and share her personal journey and victory over vaginismus with the help of the Women's Therapy Center in New York. But I hope that with this episode we can bring more awareness to this condition that many women don't realize they have or are silently suffering from because they don't know anyone else experiencing it or feel embarrassed about it.

Vaginismus is an involuntary tightening of the pelvic floor muscles in anticipation of vaginal penetration. And in this episode we will learn more about what's happening physically when you have vaginismus, how that can affect a women mentally and physically while married, how Marni and her husband found hope in finding the Women's Therapy Center, what treatments were like and how they saved their marriage.

Because I know you're awesome like that!  And we all know it takes a village. So the more we share the more we can come together, roar together and conquer this thing called life together.

If you are like me, you have hardly anytime to sit down much less READ. I have made it a point this year to read more books. Because we cannot grow without learning. But the mom life makes it almost impossible right? That's where I have found my love for Audible. I can fold laundry, walk the dog, cook dinner or be in the car and listening to a good book. Whether it's a self help or fiction book I can fit my reading time in while doing other things at the same time. Multi-tasking! What moming is all about!
